FINANCE OFFICER / REMOTE WORKING / £28,000 FTE / PART TIME APPROX 20 HOURS PER WEEK

The Finance Officer is responsible for a broad range of finance tasks across two business divisions, and for assisting the Financial Controller in preparation of the monthly management accounts. It would suit someone at the beginning of their AAT or ACCA studies. The finance function uses Xero, Dext and ApprovalMax and has outsourced payroll.

- A salary of £28,000 FTE
- Part time (0.5 FTE) – 20 hours per week across 4 or 5 days (with flexibility)
- Remote Working – with occasional travel into London as the business requires.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Officer:
- Purchase ledger – including reconciling supplier statements, staff expenses and credit control
- Assisting the Financial Controller with Sales invoicing
- Preparing supplier payments for authorisation
- Bank and credit card reconciliations and other reconciliations as required
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Assisting with month end – preparing journals for prepayments, cost accruals & depreciation
- Identifying and implementing process improvements
- Supporting the Financial Controller and wider team as required
Skills & Experience Required:
- AAT Level 1 or beginning ACCA
- At least one years’ relevant experience within an SME accounting function
- Experience in using online accounting packages such as Xero, MYOB or Sage50
- Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, strong IT skills, particularly Excel
- Ability to manage own tasks, good time management and able to work to tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy is essential
- Ability to pick up new processes and systems quickly and to work as part of a team and remotely
